Two Ways to Make Chips from Mikey’s Tortillas

One of our favorite ways to use Mikey’s Grain-Free Cassava Flour Tortillas is for making chips. It’s always a struggle to find grain-free tortilla chips in the grocery store, so we developed two easy ways to make them at home. When we’re trying to keep the calories down, we like to bake them in the oven with just a light layer of paleo-friendly cooking oil. If we’re craving authentic nachos, deep fried is absolutely the way to go. No matter which method you use, you’ll be eating gluten-free tortilla chips in no time!

Baked Mikey’s Tortilla Chips
You will need:
1 package Mikey’s Grain-Free Cassava Flour TortillasCooking oil spray (we like to use avocado or grapeseed)
Sea salt
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 F.2. Using a sharp knife or kitchen shears, cut tortillas into eight triangles each.
3. On a nonstick baking tray, spread tortillas in a single layer and spray lightly with cooking oil.
4. Bake until golden brown (about 18-20 minutes).
5. Sprinkle chips with sea salt immediate after baking. Serve with your favorite dip!

Deep Fried Mikey’s Tortilla Chips
You will need:
1 package Mikey’s Grain-Free Cassava Flour TortillasHigh-heat cooking oil suitable for frying (we like to use grapeseed oil)
Sea salt
Directions:
1. Fill a medium-sized pot ⅓ full with cooking oil and heat to 350 F (the oil should sizzle when you add the chips).2. Using a sharp knife or kitchen shears, cut tortillas into eight triangles each.
3. Place eight tortilla chips into the oil at a time. Fry until golden brown.
4. Carefully remove chips using a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to remove excess oil.
5. Sprinkle with sea salt. Use for your favorite nachos recipe or serve with your favorite dip!
